My name is Heath Grant. I am an art student with plans to go into charecter animation for film. I have been drawing since I was little and have always been into art. I went to High School at Thomas Downey High in Modesto California, where film great George Lucas was raised and went to school. In High School I was a member of the wrestling team which stemed most of my circle of friends. I also took many art classes. Outside of school, my mother was a Ballroom Dance teacher. Naturally I did not have much of a choice, my brothers and I grew up dancing. My mother had a performing and competing youth team which I was a part of for many years. I excelled in the Latin style dances such as: Cha Cha, Samba, Rhumba Jive, and Paso Doble, as well as Various forms of Swing Dancing. Art, wrestling and dancing seemed to be the focus of my high school life.
After graduating High School in 1996, I Served a two year LDS mission in Atlanta Georgia. Upon my return from my mission, I attended the Modesto Junior College. While attending school I tought dance classes for my mom at her studio as well as at the college. In March of 2000 I married my wife Melanie who was living in Idaho attending BYU Idaho. So we packed up and headed out to the coldness of Rexburg ID where I attended school while my wife completed her associates degree. Then it was back to sunny California. My son Hayden was recently born in September of 2004 who has brought many sleepless nights, but many sweet memories. Currently I attend Cogswell Polytechnical College, where I am studying charecter animation. My goal is to graduate in 2007 where I will be equipped to work as an animator on live action or full length animated films.
